Founding Father Pirrawayingi

We are very fortunate to have Pirrawayingi, a respected cultural leader and founding father now working with us at the college. His wisdom and leadership are invaluable assets, and we are privileged to learn from his deep cultural knowledge and experience.

Pirrawayingi is running two important programs that honor Tiwi culture while supporting the growth of our students. The first program focuses on reading and writing in old Tiwi language. The second program kwaka spiritual-healing program, or ngapakurluwunyamiya (meaning looking at self) is designed to strengthen students physically, mentally and spiritually.

Both programs play a vital role in empowering Tiwi students, fostering a deeper connection to their identity and culture.
