Shout out to Kevin, Shaun & Vincent!

Lovely message we received, very proud!! - we would like to shout out to Kevin, Shaun & Vincent!

"I am a teacher from Sydney NSW who recently had the pleasure of staying at Tarntipi Bush Camp on Bathurst Island. My 2 daughters and my best friend (who is also a teacher) and her son were hosted by some of your amazing students.

I wanted to write to the staff and students of TIwi College to say how incredibly impressed and grateful we were to meet and learn from Kevin, Shaun and Vincent.

These 3 young boys were outstanding representatives of their school but also their families and Tiwi Culture. The students I work with in Sydney would learn a lot from the level of respect and manners they displayed but also how generous they were with sharing their knowledge of language, Culture and Country with us. We were also treated to some awesome singing and dancing and have not been able to get the Red Dust song out of our heads! Haha

I know as a teacher positive recognition of students and their efforts outside of school is just as important as the ones they receive in school time. So please pass on to whoever needs to know, well done to Tiwi College and the families of these boys who are raising incredible young men who proudly represent their people.
